Story of HDK’s chopper escape
Thursday, 03 September 2009
ImageAs YSR’s chopper remains untraceable, former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy must be thanking his luck.

Kumaraswamy’s chopper too had gone missing on May 27, 2007 for some time, as he was on his way to Chamarajanagar district. The news about the chopper’s disappearence had sent the administration and the media into a tizzy.

Kumaraswamy’s chopper had taken off in bad weather, and following heavy rain and gusty winds, as hundreds of them were waiting to receive CM at Vadarakere, the plane landed between Santhemaranahalli Cross and Yalandur town among standing crops.

The former CM would have been in trouble if the chopper had drifted towards the Biligiriranga Hills. Meanwhile, the public, politicians and the district administration had already started searching for the CM in the fields and lakes around Yalandur. Some rushed their vehicles into the fields, only to get stuck in slushy roads.
