Working with Amitabh fulfils my mom's dream : Sudeep Print E-mail

ImageKannada actor Sudeep, who was seen as Amitabh Bachchan's over-ambitious son in "Rann", says he has fulfilled his mother's dream by working with the megastar in the movie.

"I think working with Amitabh Bachchan in a film is an achievement for me. It was my mother's dream that I should work with a legendary actor like Amithabh Bachchan. I am happy that it has materialised now," said Sudeep who is set to direct a Hindi film, which will be a remake of his just released Kannada film "Maath Maathnalli".

Talking about his experiences of working with Big B, he said: "I was a little apprehensive on the first day of the shoot. I was introduced to Amitabh Bachchan by Ram Gopal Varma. He said, 'Hello Sudeep'. And I just said, 'Hi sir'.

"I did not speak to him much during the shoot because I did not want to be overwhelmed by his presence. But on the last day, I spoke to him at length."

Vidya debuts in Kannada Print E-mail

ImageActress Vidya of 13 films in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil is making debut in Kannada this week with ‘Samagama’ film. This is her fourth south Indian language film. Vidya having played a second heroine in half a dozen films shot into the heroine spot from ‘Seetha Kalyanam’ in Telugu and ‘Vacation’ in Malayalam. She has ‘Cherea Kalna Vela Police’ in Malayalam ready for release.

Before ‘Samagama’ Vidya who was living in Davanagere during her childhood days has acted in ‘Priya’ Kannada film that has not seen the light of the day, In Malayalam she has already acted with big stars like Jayaram, Biju Menon, Jagadeesh and Mukesh. In her debut Kannada film she pairs with another debutant Vishranth.

The actress of hits like Junglee and Manasaare had accused the director of slapping her and using abusive language while shooting for their film Nooru Janmakkoo in Hong Kong recently, a claim which Chandrashekhar rubbished.

Amulya, brother get life threat Print E-mail

ImageKannada filmstar Amulya of ‘Cheluvina Chittara’ fame has received a life threat from a miscreant, according to a complaint booked at Vyalikawal police station on Wednesday.

Amulya’s brother Deepak K, who also got a life threat from the same miscreant, met city police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, who later directed the Vyalikaval police to investigate the matter and arrest the accused at the earliest.

On the morning of November 9, Amulya and Deepak noticed her name written using coconut shells, stones and brick pieces near their house.

Amulya’s family thought that some mischief-mongers or crazy fans might have done so and ignored it.
