 Six people died and four others were badly injured when a Tempo Trax they were travelling in collided with a KSRTC bus at Kallipallya cross, on the Bangalore- Honnavar highway on Sunday.The deceased were identified as Nanjappa (65), his wife Kempamma (55), son Shivkumar (40), daughters-in-law Ratnamma (33), Lakshimidevamma (28), and another person Laksmamma (50). While, one of severely injured was shifted to NIMHANS in Bangalore, the other three were admitted at the Tumkur district hospital. According to the police, the victims were all from Tavarekere village of Turuvekere taluk and were on their way to Kabballamma temple in Sathanur at Kanakpura taluk. Police said, the incident took place at 7:30 am when their vehicle tried to overtake a speeding lorry and collided headon with the bus heading to Shimoga. A case has been registered with the Gubbi police. |
