Halappa’s organs give him a clean chit Print E-mail
Tuesday, 11 May 2010
ImageIf the unflinching support from Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and state BJP president K S Eshwarappa was not enough, doctors at the McGann Hospital in Shimoga have hinted that disgraced former minister Haratal Halappa is incapable of rigorous physical activity.

Medical Superintendent Dr S K Mahendrappa said that the 49-year-old former minister, who was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night after being arrested by the CID, has been suffering from multi-organ diseases caused by metabolic disorders.

“Halappa has been suffering from allergic bronchitis (asthma) and diabetes (type-2) for about 10 years.

He has also been suffering from postural vertigo for the past three years,” he said.
That apart, hypothyroidism and hypertension are also Halappa’s companions.

In layman’s language, the former minister has serious back problems, joint pains, breathing problems, and diseases that cause fatigue and dizziness — all of them suggesting that he is weak and cannot indulge in the kind of physical activity he is being accused of.

Dr Chidananda, assistant professor in the forensics department, also probed Halappa for the CID’s query over his recent sexual activity.

However, details of the probe were not divulged.

Interestingly, speaking to reporters in Shimoga after the medical checks on Halappa, K S Eshwarappa reiterated that “the truth would come out soon”.
