Tumti Iron Ore Mines, the rival company of Obulapuram Mining Company, has termed Minister G Janardhan Reddy a looter and a thief for his alleged involvement in illegal mining by encroaching the Karnataka- Andhra Pradesh border area. At a press conference on Thursday, Tapal Ganesh and T Ekambaram of Tumti Mines alleged that a recent apex court order had not given a clean chit to the Reddy brothers. “If the court has given a clean chit, how can it ask for the alteration of 100 to 150 meter border into the Karnataka side?” Ganesh asked. He alleged that after the Supreme Court order, the Reddy brothers not only misled the media but also made wrong interpretation of the court order. He alleged that local forest officials and a few gullible officials of the Survey of India had been manipulated by Janardhan Reddy to give a favourable report. Ganesh and Ekambaram demanded that all the mining sketches issued to different lease-holders in the Bellary reserve forest should be reviewed and redrawn by the AP government, and that they should have bearing and distances which provide a closed polygon. They also alleged that there were discrepancies in the sketches given by the forest departments of both states. Ekambaram urged for constituting an expert panel set up by the SC. |
